Bio

Reentko Dirks deals besides classical music with flamenco and oriental music. He lived in Asia and Israel for longer terms, where he could study and deepen the regional stylistics of music.

Born in 1979 near Goettingen, he decided to study the subject of “Guitar Worldmusic” in 2000 with Prof. Thomas Fellow in Dresden, where he got to know Daniel Wirtz. Reentko Dirks is currently in the master class.

He works in several projects with a large range of musicians with whom he played concerts all over Europe, Israel and China. In 2005 together with the “Quarteto caliente” he performed Rodrigos “Concerto Andaluz” in the Semperoper of Dresden. He wrote the soundtrack to the documentary »Dreigestirn der Moderne« with his fellow-musician Erkin Cavus and received the scolarship of the land of saxony in 2006.
